K. Jaishankar,
PhD
Jaishankar is the Founding
Principal Director and Professor of Criminology and Justice
Sciences of the International Institute of Justice &
Police Sciences (IIJPS). Before founding the International
Institute of Justice & Police Sciences in 2022, Jaishankar held
several positions like Dean, Head of the Department, Syndicate
Member, Professor of Criminology and Senior Assistant Professor
of Criminology at two major public universities in India. He was a Commonwealth Fellow (2009-2010) at the
Centre for Criminal Justice Studies, School of Law,
University of Leeds, UK.
He is the founder President of South Asian Society
of Criminology and Victimology (SASCV) and founder
Executive Director of Centre for Cyber Victim
Counselling (CCVC). He is the founding father of
Cyber Criminology, an academic sub-discipline of
Criminology and the proponent of the Space
Transition Theory. He is the recipient of the
prestigious “National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI)
- SCOPUS Young Scientist Award 2012 – Social Sciences”. He is an
International Ambassador of the British Society of Criminology
(BSC) and a United Nations Expert on Issues of Victims of
Terrorism. He is recently
Ranked 16th among the Top 25 Influential Criminologists in the
World during 2010-2020 by AcademicInfluence an Academic
Rankings Site Texas, USA.He earned a B.Sc. in Biochemistry
from the PSG College of Arts and Science, Bharathiar
University, an M.A. in Criminology and a PG Diploma
in Geographic Information Systems Management and a
Ph.D. in Criminology from the University of Madras,

Georgios A. Antonopoulos, PhD
Georgios is a Full Professor of the
International
Institute of Justice & Police Sciences (IIJPS). He is currently a Professor of
Criminology at Northumbria University at Newcastle (UK). He
has taught at Teesside University and at the University of
Durham. Previously he was visiting fellow at Sheffield
University and at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He has led
and managed projects funded by the European Commission, the
Economic and Social Research Council, and the British
Ministry of Justice. Antonopoulos is board member of the
Cross-Border Crime Colloquium,
series editor of the Routledge Studies in Organised Crime, and editor-in-chief of
the journal Trends in Organised Crime. From 2010 to 2014 he
was Chair of the North-East branch of the British Society of
Criminology, and in 2014-2015 he served as executive
director of the International Association for the Study of
Organised Crime (IASOC). He has acted as expert or
consultant to the strategic analysis sector (e.g. Enterprise
& Diplomatie Groupe ADIT, France; Sandstone SA, Luxemburg;
Intellegit, Italy; Oxford Analytica, UK), RAND, the Centre
for the Study of Democracy (Bulgaria), Her Majesty’s Revenue
& Customs (HMRC), the British Police, the Cabinet Office,
the UK Department of Business, Innovation and Skills, the US
Department of Commerce, the Brazilian Ministry of Justice,
and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). He
is a trustee of Recovery Connections, a charity to support
those affected by substance abuse. Since 2019 he has been a
Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences. He has commented
extensively on illegal markets in media outlets including
BBC World, The Guardian, The Observer, Deutsche Welle, NBC
News, Al Jazeera, VICE, and The Economist.

R. Jayachandran, PhD
Jayachandran is a Full Professor of the
International
Institute of Justice & Police Sciences (IIJPS). He is the Professor and former Head
at the Department of Hindi, University of Kerala,
Thiruvananthapuram, India. He is presently the Dean, Faculty
of Oriental Studies, University of Kerala. Jayachandran
pursued his Masters, M.Phil and PhD from Cochin University
of Science & Technology (CUSAT), Kochi, Kerala, India. He
has Secured University Rank for his Masters and for his
Postgraduate Diploma Programmes. Jayachandran is a dedicated
professional with more than two and a half decade experience
in Research, Administration and Extension. He is the
recipient of: the First Hindi Ratnakar Award (2016) in by
Indo-Russian Cultural Society (Disha), Moscow, Russia;
Highest Research Grant award (2014) by the University of
Kerala; P. K. Das Memorial Best Faculty Award (2013) from
Nehru Group of Institutions, Coimbatore, and Hindi Award
(2012) for the book written from Rashtriya Hindi Sahitya
Sammelan, Kerala. He is the Vice-President of South Asian
Society for Criminology and Victimology (SASCV). He has
special interests in Media and Crime, Literature focusing on
Crime, Justice and Victimization.

Michael Pittaro, PhD
Michael is a Full Professor of the International
Institute of Justice & Police Sciences (IIJPS). He is an Associate Professor of
Criminal Justice at American Military University, Charles
Town, West Virginia, United States of America and an Adjunct
Professor with several colleges / universities. Before
pursuing a career in Higher Education, Michael worked in
Corrections Administration; served as the Executive Director
of an outpatient drug and alcohol facility; and as Executive
Director of a crime prevention agency. He has 32 years of
experience in criminal justice and continues to serve
internationally as a sought-out author, presenter, and
subject matter expert. Michael holds a PhD in Criminal
Justice; an MPA in Public Administration, and a BS in
Criminal Justice. Michael is the recipient of several awards
for his university service, including the Outstanding
Faculty of the Year Award (2018), the most prestigious
faculty award presented by American Military University. He
is a QPR certified suicide prevention facilitator and has a
master’s certification in emotional intelligence. Among his
nearly 150 publications, including three books, he is the
author of his recent book, "Pursuing and Navigating a Career
in Criminal Justice" (2021) and is currently writing, "An
Introduction to Corrections." His Areas of Expertise are:
Corrections, Correctional Leadership, and in providing
education and awareness of suicide among Criminal Justice
Professionals. He resides in Lower Saucon Township,
Pennsylvania with his Wife and their 5 Children.

Aman Amrit Cheema, PhD
Aman is a Full Professor of the International Institute of
Justice & Police Sciences (IIJPS). She is
presently working as Professor (Laws), University Institute
of Laws, Panjab University, Chandigarh (Ludhiana Campus).
She completed her LL.B. with a Gold Medal and LLM from Guru
Nanak Dev University. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in
Laws (2005) degree and did a study on the topic “The
Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act: A
Socio-Legal Study With Special Reference to the State of
Jammu and Kashmir And Punjab”. She is a Teacher
(Facilitator) of Law with more than 21 years of experience.
During this span of her career she has taught various
courses in law such as Criminal Law, Theories of
Criminology, Property Law and Family Law. In the areas of
professional growth and productivity, her activities over
the years have included pursuing professional excellence
through continuous education, research, presentations and
publications. She has authored two books titled ‘Narcotics
and the Law’, and ‘Sports & Law: Contemporary Challenges’.

Muzammil Quraishi, PhD
Muzammil is a Full Professor of the International
Institute of Justice & Police Sciences (IIJPS). He is a
Professor of Criminology & Criminal Justice in the School of
Health & Society, University of Salford, UK. He was
co-investigator on a large-scale project entitled
Understanding Conversion to Islam in Prison (UCIP) 2017-2021
(with Prof. Matthew Wilkinson, Cardiff University) and is
currently co-investigator on a major follow-on project
examining Prison based Intervention for Muslim Offenders
(PRIMO). He is author of numerous texts examining Muslim
populations as both victims and offenders (Muslims & Crime,
Ashgate/Routledge 2005/2016) on racial and religious
discrimination (Researching Racism, Sage, 2015) and his
latest monograph explores comparative criminology (Towards a
Malaysian Criminology, Palgrave, 2020). He is also co-author
of a forthcoming text on Islam in Prison (Bristol, Policy
Press 2022). He has provided consultancy about Muslim
prisoners to a range of UK governmental bodies including the
Ministry of Justice, Greater Manchester Police, Her
Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service and Her Majesty’s
Inspectorate of Prisons.

Curtis R. Blakely, PhD
Curtis is an International Institute of Justice & Police Sciences (IIJPS). He is
currently a Professional Academic Lecturer in Criminal
Justice, University of Wyoming, USA. He also currently holds
teaching positions at several Universities. Blakely
completed bachelors and masters degree from University of
Nebraska and a PhD in Sociology/Criminal Justice from
Southern Illinois University. In 2009, he became a justice
systems professor at Truman State University. He is a member
of the International Foundation for Protection Officers and
has earned certification in security supervision and
management (CSSM). He also holds nearly 100 certificates
from agencies including the Federal Emergency Management
Agency, the Department of Justice, the Department of
Homeland Security, the World Health Organization and the
Centers for Disease Control (among others). He has written
several books including Socio-Physics: Applying the Natural
Sciences to Criminal Justice and Penology (Revised/Expanded
Edition, 2017) co-authored with his wife Dr. Michelle
Blakely. An article written by him was cited in a legal
brief argued before the U.S. Supreme Court and his insights
into prison privatization were showcased in a London Times
article. He has held elected positions with the Academy of
Criminal Justice Sciences and the American Correctional
Association. For a period of five years, he also served as
the managing editor for the International Journal of
Criminal Justice Sciences. Curtis has served as a
Probation/Parole Officer, as a Classification Specialist,
and as a Police Training Specialist. He has trained with the
FBI, helped establish an internship program with the Secret
Service's Electronics Crime Laboratory (Southeast Region),
has worked with the national intelligence community and has
provided instructional guidance to the Royal Canadian
Mounted Police at their Training Academy (Regina, SK). He is
the recipient of numerous honours. Officials from the
Federal Bureau of Prisons and the State of California have
sought his advice on prison management and offender
treatment. As a volunteer with the United Nations, he has
assisted in composing reports that assess prison conditions
in France, Belgium and Brazil. Most of his recent efforts
have focused on helping prepare homeland security
professionals to effectively meet current threats.

Sony Kunjappan, PhD
Sony is a Professor at the International
Institute of Justice & Police Sciences (IIJPS). He is
presently the Professor and Head of
the Department of Studies in Social Management, Central
University of Gujarat, Vadodara, India. His PhD and M.Phil was awarded from Centre for the Study of Law and
Governance, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. His PhD
thesis is on "Police Accountability: case studies in Wayanad
district of Kerala". He holds a Masters in Social Work with
specialization in Criminology and Correctional
Administration from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS),
Mumbai. He has published one book titled, "Governance of
In-service Training Process and Procedures" and two chapters
in edited books published by Taylor and Francis Group. He
has also submitted a project titled Local Self Governance
and Policing, funded by Bureau of Police Research and
Development, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

Philip N. Ndubueze, PhD
Phillip is an International Institute of Justice & Police Sciences (IIJPS). He is a
Senior Lecturer and Cyber Criminologist in the Department of
Sociology, Federal University Dutse, Nigeria. He obtained
his PhD in Sociology (with specialization in Criminology and
Criminal Justice) and M. Sc. in Sociology (with
specialization in Criminology) both from the University of
Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria. He received his B.Sc. (Hons.) in
Sociology from Bayero University, Kano, Nigeria. He is the
erstwhile Postgraduate Coordinator of the Faculty of Arts
and Social Sciences as well as the Pioneer Deputy Director,
Partnership and Affiliation, of the Research and Development
Directorate, Federal University Dutse, Nigeria. He is a
member of the Editorial Board of Dutse Journal of Humanities
and Social Sciences (DUJOHSS), and Editor of Dutse Journal
of Criminology and Security Studies (DUJCSS). He is the
former Managing Editor of the International Journal of Cyber
Criminology. He is a member of the Nigerian Sociological and
Anthropological Practitioners Association (NASA), the
Nigeria Society for Criminology (NSC) and Western Society of
Criminology (WSC), United States. Ndubueze has published
several book chapters and articles on cyber criminology and
cybersecurity in referred national and International
journals (including those published by Springer Macmillan
Palgrave, Oxford University Press, CRC Press - Taylor, and
Francis Group, USA). He is the editor of Cyber Criminology
and Technology-Assisted Crime Control: A Reader (2017). He
co-edited Contemporary Issues in Criminology and Criminal
Justice: A Festschrift in Honour of Professor E.U.M. Igbo at
70 (2020). He has presented papers in both local and
international academic conferences including the United
Nations Office of Drug and Crime (UNODC) International
Academic Conference on Linking Organized Crime and
Cybercrime, held at Chuncheon, Republic of Korea (2018). He
teaches courses and supervises students’ dissertations in

Elli Anitzi PhD
Elli is an Assistant
Professor of Criminology and Criminal Psychology at the
International Institute of Justice & Police Sciences (IIJPS).
She is currently a Postdoctoral researcher in the Department
of Psychology, at the National and Kapodistrian University
of Athens, Greece. She has been teaching as an Adjunct
Lecturer in the field of Forensic Psychology at the same
University and as a Course Tutor in the “Centre for Training
and Lifelong Education” of Panteion University. She obtained
a PhD in Criminology as a Hellenic Foundation for Research
and Innovation Scholar (H.F.R.I.) from the Sector of
Criminology, Department of Sociology, Panteion University.
Her PhD research includes the development of an integrative
approach on violent crimes, through the analysis of court
cases. As a PhD researcher, she has conducted lectures in
the context of undergraduate and postgraduate courses on
Criminology at Panteion University. She completed
postgraduate studies in Clinical Counseling Psychology and
Criminology and graduated from the Department of Psychology
of Panteion University. Elli has participated in numerous
international conferences and published in peer-reviewed
journals in the fields of criminal psychology and
criminology. As a Researcher, she has collaborated with the
Research Centre for Gender Equality (KETHI), the George
Washington University -Global Mental Health Project, and
EPANODOS P.L.E for prison re-entry, where she was also the
Supervisor of the Hostel for the Accommodation &
Reintegration of Ex-prisoners. Her research interests
include Forensic and criminal psychology, prison
rehabilitation and Reintegration, Criminology Theory,
Integrative approaches to violent crime, Qualitative
methodologies, Women Studies, and vulnerable groups.

Asma Jan, PhD
Asma is an Associate Professor of the
International Institute of Justice & Police Sciences (IIJPS).
SShe has done her Ph.D in Social Work from Jamia Millia
Islamia, New Delhi. Her Ph.D thesis was titled “Rights of
Political Prisoners in Kashmir: A Study of Law and
Practice”. She was awarded UGC Junior Research Fellowship in
Social Work (2011). She has done her Masters in Social work,
Bachelors in Science (BSC) and Bachelors in Education from
the University of Kashmir. She also has a Masters in the
Gender and Development Studies (MAGD) and also has a Post
Graduate Diploma in Disaster Management (PGDM). She was
awarded a fellowship from the Action Aid International on
right to freedom of expression (2009). She has also been
teaching at various degree colleges in Kashmir. Her areas of
interest are; Criminal Justice Social Work, Criminology and
Criminal Justice Studies, Rehabilitative and Correctional
Social Work, Children Rights and Protection, Social Justice

Shailesh Kumar
Shailesh Kumar is an Assistant Professor of the
International Institute of Justice & Police Sciences (IIJPS). He is
presently Associate Tutor, a Commonwealth scholar funded by
the UK government, and a PhD student at the School of Law, Birkbeck, University of London, UK. His PhD research is an
empirical study of the reforms brought by the POCSO
(Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act 2012 that
deals with child sexual violence cases in India. He has
published articles in International Journal for the
Semiotics of Law and Contexto Internacional, and most
recently, a chapter each in The Routledge International
Handbook of Penal Abolition and The Palgrave International
Handbook of Youth Imprisonment. His areas of interest are
Criminology and Social Policy, Constitutional Law,
Socio-Legal Studies, Legal Ethnography, and Law and Visual
Culture.
